Sound of the Rain

Sound of The Rain
The sound of the rain
still my heart
It reminds me of the day
we had to part
How I stood in the rain
to say goodbye
glad it was raining
so I could cry
The sound of the rain
reminds me of you
happy, cheerful,
never blue
Your charming smile
would glow so bright
I used to think you
could light up the night
My heart aches
at the thought of you
knowing you're gone
and now we're through
But sometimes I think
sometimes I dream
You and I together
watching the stream
Laughing, joking
arms holding on tight
hoping we never
leave the other's sight
The sound of the rain
makes my heart pound
we used to love to listen
to the rain make that sound
The sound of the rain
is fading away
and my thoughts of you
have gone astray
I miss you dearly
I say it with pain
I say it with the fading
sound of the rain
